BT require little introduction to those of us who live in the UK; quite simply, they’re the oldest and biggest telecoms company this country has ever seen.

BT Broadband

BT are one of the UK’s biggest broadband suppliers, right up there alongside Sky for most connections. So, what are their current packages?

Broadband – Offers up to 17Mbps download speeds, a 12GB monthly cap, 5GB of BT Cloud storage, BT Virus Protection on 2 devices, BT Parental controls, UK anytime calls and BT Sport. £22.99pm for 12 months. £9.99 upfront fee. Includes a free BT Home Hub 4.

Unlimited Infinity 1 – Up to 52Mbps speeds, no monthly usage cap, 100GB of BT Cloud storage, BT Virus Protection on 2 devices, BT Parental controls and BT Sport. You’ll also get inclusive UK weekend calls. £39.99 for 12 months. £59.99 upfront fee. Includes a free BT Smart Hub.

BT TV

BT have made significant strides in improving their TV offering over recent years by speeding up their box and even launching the UK’s first 4K TV service. Today, you can only sign up for BT TV if you take a phone and broadband deal, but it’s an extremely cheap way to watch some of the best TV the UK has to offer. Their three plans are:

Entertainment Starter – YouView box for pausing/rewinding live TV, 100 channels, free BT Sport and AMC + access to the BT Store and catch up TV. £3pm for 12 months.

Entertainment Plus – YouView+ box for pausing/rewinding/recording live TV up to 300 hours. 110 channels, free BT Sport and AMC. BT TV App, BT Store and catch up TV support. £10pm for 12 months.

Total Entertainment – YouView+ Ultra HD box for pausing/rewinding/recording live TV up to 600 hours, with 4K UHD support built right in. 141 channels, including 21 in HD and BT Sport 4K UHD. Free BT Sport in HD and AMC is also included, as is Kids’ TV as standard. BT TV App, BT Store and catch up TV support. £18pm for 12 months.

Each of these packages can be augmented with premium content from the likes of Sky. Each can be taken on a 30 day rolling contract, they are:

BT Mobile

Despite owning EE, BT operate their own mobile network called BT Mobile, which offers discount deals for those who choose to take broadband. Doing so nets you a £5pm discount, which results in the following prices:

BT Mobile 500MB Plan – 200 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB of data. Perfect for those without high demands from their mobile, or those who expect to largely use their phone on WiFi. £5pm (£10 without home broadband).

BT Mobile 2GB Plan – 500 minutes, unlimited texts, 2GB of data. Ideal for those with mild requirements from their smartphone. Perfect for light browsing and navigation out of the house. £10pm (£15 without home broadband).

BT Mobile 15GB Plan – Unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 15GB of data. Designed for people with big demands from their smartphone, making it perfect for streaming or tethering to your mobile devices out of the house. £20pm (£25 without home broadband).
