Feeling nervous about setting up your Sky broadband hub or Sky Q hub? Don’t be. Follow our step by step instructions and you’ll soon be up and running.

Standard Hub

Setting up your Sky Hub is a relatively simple process, but should only be attempted if everything you need is inside the box. Included should be your Sky Hub, a grey ADSL cable, two microfilters, a power lead for the Sky Hub, a black Ethernet cable, a connect card and a setup guide instruction manual. If all of these things are there, just follow these steps to complete the setup of your Sky Hub:

  1. Find the master phone socket in your house.
  2. If you have a standard phone socket, unplug everything already plugged in. If your socket is pre-filtered then disconnect everything plugged into the broadband port and jump to instruction 5.
  3. Plug a microfilter into your master socket.
  4. Plug your grey DSL cable into the Sky Hub Port on your microfilter and jump to instruction 6.
  5. Plug one end of your grey DSL cable into the pre-filtered master socket’s DSL port. Jump to instruction 7.
  6. Plug your phone lead/telephone socket splitter into the microfilter’s Sky Box/Phone socket.
  7. Plug the other end of the grey DSL cable into the broadband port at the rear of your Sky Hub.
  8. Plug in your Sky Hub to the mains.
  9. Once the lights stop flashing, you are connected to the Internet.
